Jesús Guerrero Santos

Continuing our journey to captivate the world with our country’s most exceptional creations, for this edition of Master Artisans we feel honored to be collaborating with Master Artisan Jesús Guerrero Santos of Guadalajara, Jalisco. His work in ceramics and nickel silver have established him as a leading exponent of Mexican high artisanship.
Nourished by the influence of sacred art, architectural study and the iconographic wealth of the Baroque style, Master Artisan Jesús Guerrero Santos dedicates his work to make manifest the spirit of Mexican tradition.
Decanter
The three decanters created for this edition of Master Artisans by Jesús Guerrero Santos recount his passions and memories through the cultural symbolism of their imagery.
Each of the sister pieces reveals something particular about his craft, as each one uniquely configures the amalgam of ceramic and metal elements typical of his work.
Cobalto
Cobalto (“Cobalt”), the first of the three decanters in this edition of Master Artisans, faithfully reproduces, in brilliant tones of blue and white, the architectural configurations that inspire Master Artisan Jesús Guerrero Santos.
Outlined by the ceramic and metalwork on the base, a geometric pattern lures the eye and plays with the perception of depth. In the center, the Clase Azul México emblem is framed within an ornate oval design.
Canela
Canela (“Cinnamon”), the second decanter in this edition of Master Artisans, bears elegant decorative motifs executed in brown and black, hues representative of the earthenware tradition of Master Jesús Guerrero Santos’ homeland of Jalisco.
Two delicate nickel silver handles adorn the decanter’s neck and embellish its iconic silhouette. At the center, a laurel wreath enshrines the Clase Azul México emblem, while an imposing floral belt encircles the surface above the metallic base.
Guirnalda
Guirnalda (“Garland”), the third decanter in our Master Artisans collection, is a tribute to the intricacy with which traditional Mexican ceramic vessels are decorated by hand.
The piece, which takes its name from the deep-blue garland around its base, has been accentuated at the neck by a fine reticulated pattern and above the base with a chain of concentric nickel silver rings. At the center, over a cobalt blue frame, the Clase Azul México emblem comes into bloom.
