The Artist
Amador Montes
Originally from Oaxaca, Amador Montes lives and works in his home state. Trained in graphic design and later in drawing, engraving, painting, and photography, his practice is guided by intuition and emotion. Childhood remains a central reference in his language, where drawing became a refuge and a form of speech. He has exhibited widely in Mexico and abroad, recognized for his contribution to contemporary Mexican painting.
Vestiges of Creation
Aesthetically, Amador Montes’s universe unfolds through spontaneity, memory, and emotional layering. His visual language embraces accident as a generative force at the core of composition. Figures and fragments emerge as if uncovered from memory, suspended between the real and the imagined. His work reveals poetic spaces where emotion, dreamlike imagery, and narrative vestiges converge.
Mezcal
The spirit created for this edition, our first limited-edition mezcal, is a joven mezcal curated by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco and crafted from tepeztate agave, a wild species that matures over decades in the remote soils of Oaxaca’s Central Valleys. Produced artisanally in small batches, it honors ancestral practices and the mezcal-making tradition of the region.

Conceived as a hidden treasure, the decanter in this edition bears the unmistakable imprint of Amador Montes’s universe: spontaneity, organic forms and an enduring sense of memory. The piece reflects his fascination with the beauty found in imperfection and is adorned with his signature motifs: slender birds, everyday objects infused with personal history, and handwritten phrases that evoke his inner world.
