A Timeless Poem
Master Artisan Jesús Guerrero Santos created this second release of the Master Artisans collection in collaboration with Clase Azul México, presenting a set of three decanters that reflect over 30 years of mastery in ceramics.
These companion pieces, rich in expressive imagery and cultural symbolism, speak to the passions and memories of their creator. They stand as a testament to a profound command of ceramics and metalwork, shaped through decades of research, refinement, and experimentation.
The Story
Master Artisans
In Mexico, artisanship is a living legacy, a language through which history, technique, and imagination are transformed into tangible beauty. Each piece shaped by masterful hands bears witness to a cultural lineage that transcends time.
Our Master Artisans collection celebrates the most exquisite expressions of Mexican folk art through collaborations with the country’s most esteemed artisans, guardians of ancestral practices who reveal the soul of our culture through their work.
The Artisan
Jesús Guerrero Santos
Jesús Guerrero Santos, from Guadalajara, Jalisco, is a leading figure in Mexican high artisanship with more than 30 years of experience. His work draws from architectural study, sacred art, and the cultural convergence of the Baroque, guided by a deep commitment to expressing the spirit of Mexican tradition.
Rooted in Maiolica ceramics, his practice embraces a centuries-old technique of firing and glazing that yields works of singular character, often enriched with nickel silver applications that add a luminous, sculptural dimension. No two pieces are alike, reflecting his devotion to the creative process and art for its own sake.
Ceramic, Metal & Form
For this release, Master Artisan Jesús Guerrero Santos conceived of the decanter as the “skin” of the tequila, a living surface that envelops, protects, and expresses its essence. Nickel silver is carefully applied across the form to accentuate its iconic silhouette and dimensional presence. The result reflects an eclectic convergence of Mexican traditions, where material and meaning become one.
Tequila
Curated by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, this extra añejo tequila is the result of an aging process lasting more than eight years. It was first aged in American whiskey casks and then oloroso sherry casks before being finished in fortified wine casks from the island of Madeira.

Tasting Notes
Decanter
The first decanter in this collection is defined by blue and white tones applied through a paint-thinning technique that creates depth and visual contrast. Its base rests on a nickel silver plate and features a geometric pattern that plays with perspective and illusion. At its center, the Clase Azul México emblem is framed in cobalt blue.
The second piece in the collection is defined by a palette of black and brown, hues rooted in the ceramic traditions of Jalisco. A laurel wreath frames the Clase Azul México emblem at its center, while two finely crafted nickel silver handles redefine the silhouette of the neck. At the base, a floral band encircles the form above a nickel silver plate.
Painted in white and cobalt blue, the decanter’s decoration features a floral garland rendered through a thinning technique that evokes a watercolor effect. The neck is defined by a delicate reticulated pattern created with varying concentrations of blue pigment, while a fine nickel silver band separates the base from the body. At its center, the Clase Azul México emblem is framed in cobalt blue.
