Stories in Convergence
Guided by our purpose of sharing Mexican culture with the world, we sought to expand our horizons through collaborations with leading contemporary artists whose perspectives enrich our own. This intention led us to Eduardo Sarabia, whose work resonated with our pursuit of deeply rooted, singular expression, giving origin to the Encuentros collection.
This inaugural edition presents our collaboration with Sarabia, born from a shared sensibility and a “spiritual connection” with Clase Azul México.
The Story
Encuentros
Contemporary creativity is a landscape where perspectives, memories, and diverse sensibilities converge.
The limited editions of the Encuentros collection celebrate this richness through collaborations with internationally renowned artists, engaging in a dialogue with our brand to create truly singular pieces.
The Artist
Eduardo Sarabia
Born in Los Angeles and based in Guadalajara, Eduardo Sarabia builds narrative-driven work shaped by lived experience and fiction. Of Mexican heritage, his practice explores social and sociopolitical realities through veiled autobiographical references, inviting open interpretation. His work moves between memory, myth, and imagination, tracing the shifting boundaries of personal and collective history.
Worlds of Expression
Eduardo Sarabia’s work is rooted in narrative and convergence—between people, cultures, and imagined realities. Drawing from lived experience and fiction, he builds layered stories where anecdotes, characters, and processes are infused with mysticism. His practice unfolds as a space where memory and imagination continuously intersect and transform one another.
Tequila
For this limited edition, Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco created a joven tequila inspired by Eduardo Sarabia’s narrative world and singular character. This expression is a refined blend of unaged tequila, an añejo aged in Russian oak casks, and another añejo matured in amontillado sherry casks.
Tasting Notes
Decanter
Employing his playful visual language, Sarabia adorns the decanter with folkloric characters and personal motifs. On the front, crossed picks and spades recall a childhood narrative of hidden treasure, alongside a two-peso coin minted in the year of his birth. The reverse features sardonic portraits of a parrot, rooster, and she-goat drawn from the folk narratives of his family’s native Sinaloa.
